Biggest fail: M2 Pro Mac mini. Not for itself—great machine—but because after almost a year as my “Endgame Mac” it failed to properly run all my Windows games in Crossover Mac (modded Skyrim. + modding tools in particular).
Biggest win: the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 14” OLED gaming laptop that replaced the Mac mini. Ofcourse a device designed for it will fit my needs better.
Most fun: Google Pixel Fold. Finally experiencing a folding phone. It was a good 6-month honeymoon. In my day-to-day I’m back to an iPhone mini 13 + iPad mini 7 but I wouldn’t call it a fail. I needed to know if a folding phone would work for me long-term and now I know (it won’t).
Biggest fail: the fact that I can't love my heavy, too slippery, too bulky SLS2. The thing is a true powerhouse, but sadly also a true brick.Oh, and as I type this I'm listening to the loudest coil whine I've ever heard on any device, so there's that.
Biggest win: my dad being happy with his new ARM laptop (Surface Laptop 2024, SDX Plus). He doesn't even know what that means, only that the laptop turns on nice and fast. Well done Microsoft.
I'm starting to feel like I don't belong on this forum.
The only tech I can think of that I bought this year was my Garmin watch, which overall was an improvement from my Fitbit, but also has some issues.
Other than that, I think I bought a Magic Keyboard for my smaller iPad Pro. I guess that was a win, cause I use it more now.

Boring but useful: drawing a blank.

Biggest win - xreal air, so versatile
Biggest fail - nothing jumps out
Most fun - toss up between Quest 3 and putting Bazzite on the Ally
Boringly Useful - S9 Ultra - too big to be used casually, but wonderful for sheet music, most used in professional contexts
