As disappointed as I was with the new iPad Mini as impressed I am with the new iMac Mini. They really shrunk that case while improving performance. If I was a Mac user I’d be all over that device.
I am 99.99% sure I'm getting one. Just not sure which one. I was talking with my wife about it. The base M4 with 24gb ram would be plenty for what I do for the foreseeable future, and while the M4 Pro would definitely be more future proof, at over $500 more I could basically buy the M7 or whatever shiny new mini in 4-5 years and come out even if the base M4 starts to slow down enough.
The only thing that gives me pause is, currently my software development uses don't touch x-code, but if I decide to branch out into more graphic intensive apps, the M4 Pro would be nice.
But with education discount and trading in my Intel MBP, I can get the base M4 with 24 gb ram for $430. I'll just use jump desktop on my IPP if I need MacOS on the go.
