News story on this:
Colorsoft Signature Edition is the first color Kindle
new Kindle Scribe note-taker
faster version of its most popular Paperwhite
new entry-level Kindle.
Hopefully the new note-taking feature for the Scribe will be released to the original as a software update.
Probably going to get the new Color unit (mostly for USB-C charging and speed improvements).
BTW I just got the Kindle Paperwhite Kids (which can be used as a Paperwhite for grown-ups) the other day, like a week before the new product release. No biggie, the faster speed and few mm extra screen size don't matter to me. And I paid $110 instead of $160. Good deal.
And vaguely related, I think there's a small group of people that are very unhappy that Kindles don't have page turn buttons. The paperwhite has never had it, and yet there are early one-star reviews complaining about that. Current paperwhite review score: 3.5. 😮Should soon chance though, there are only 32 reviews as of yet.
Big news for gen-1 Scribe owners: the new feature that allows writing directly on the page (although with text reflow I think?) is not limited to only the new Scribe model, according the an Amazon person who spoke to CNET.
Interestingly at least one image is still in Spanish:

Any ideas on why that would be the case?
