I almost missed it entirely: new iPhones (16 and 16 Pro), new watches, new airpods, and updated airpods max. I need to read up on how the new airpods are different from the old airpod pros. What say we? Anything worth buying?

On a related note, apparently iOS18 is going to be available in half an hour (1pm EST Monday Sept 16). Looks like all the AI features will be trickling out with future updates. Major new features for 18.0: updated control center (way more customizable), free placement of icons on your home screens, and RCS support in messaging.
Man, as I posted a while back, I switched to mostly Windows (Surface Pro 9 and my 16" gaming laptop (32GB RAM/2TB i7-13700HX and RTX 4060 for $999 refurbed a year ago) again. I am down to just an iPhone 15 Plus, an Apple Watch S7, and regular Airpods. About the only thing and interested me today was the new Airpods (I hate the ones that seal my ears) that can potentially act as hearing aids. Other than that it was a snooze fest bigtime.
I was surprised at how little chatter there was here yesterday about the new releases. I think the era of the grandoise reveals of the next best thing is losing its luster. What we're getting is mostly annual updates of the same hardware.
I'm the only one in my family not using an IPhone (meaning I'm the only one they can't track😉). I haven't heard a lot of excitement from them.
Old Guy Comment - may be interested close to Thanksgiving because they claim the FDA will have approved them custom tuning the Airpods Pro 2 as clinical grade hearing aids. Comfort is the real question...
The camera/photography software looks interesting, but not worth upgrading from my 1 year old 15 Pro Max. Its getting to be a common thread with Apple - odd numbers big upgrades, even numbers fine tuning, better chips, some minor changes. Get on one train or the other...
I had no idea apple was announcing anything until my YouTube feed was full of apple hardware.
Totally missed it. I think I relied on the old forum topic about upcoming events for these kinds of things and without it I just let them slide by without noticing.
I fear that tech as run by mega corporations has begun its stagnation before it begins to descend. They still start with 128 GB of storage, who does that in Q3 2024?
