So... I've been using an Asus Z13 for a couple of months and it's absolutely awesome. Sure, I vastly prefer the Surface Pro, as well as the Pro keyboard, but the Z13 is still a fine item.
However, I've decided to buy an Asus G14, all AMD version. Slap in an extra 32Gb ram (Probably already has 2x8Gb, for a max of 40Gb), as well as a Samsung 990 Pro 4TB drive.
Should be fun. Will I miss the Z13? Probably, as I've literally only used a Surface Pro for the last 9 years. (Luckily enough, I also have a Surface Pro 9 for typing away and travel).
That 2025 Z13 sounds tempting, I really do miss the Surface form factor for inking.
I'm still using a Zenbook 14 Pro... just laying out the comparison between the X13, Z13... I liked that the Zenbook was still relatively lightweight in comparison, has a crazy nice screen, and had higher wattage on the 4070. The only tiny complaints that I have are the MPP pen and that the screen can't flip 180.
There will be, apparently, a new Z13 in 2025. All AMD. "What if AMD gaming tablet, but hugely more powerful plugged in?
Asus thermal engineer Sam Jiun-Wei Hu has revealed he’s been working on an unannounced ROG Flow Z13 gaming tablet for 2025 that would contain the unannounced AMD Strix Halo chip — with an incredible 80W of power for its integrated GPU alone, and 30W more for the CPU.
The previous-gen housed up to a 65W RTX 4070 Mobile, but limited it to 35W on battery power.

My Z13 constantly steals time away from my SP8...! It's a shame that it looks like Asus will not offer a successor...
Haven't the latest G14s gone to all soldered memory? The others only ever had one slot and the other module soldered on.
It's an interesting time to buy. The 8000 series AMD APUs are great, but the AI (grown) XXX series have significantly better GPUs (RDNA 3.5: about 30% better) and are more efficient. With that said, by this time next year, we might see some RDNA 4 stuff.
I have a Asus G14 Ryzen 9 3060 I handed down to my daughter. She still uses it and really likes it.
