So for a while now I was considering the Wacom Movink, but ended up getting a 16-inch XP-pen display
Have enough devices in the 12-13 inch range, just found it too hard to justify another . However I've also been looking for a really light weight USB-C monitor to pair with my work laptop for travel purposes. I actually have 2 separate 15-inch USB-C monitors, but they are both thick and heavy, and since I usually travel with the Work Laptop, my personal Surface Pro, my iPad mini or Pro, and whatever else I decide to bring, all that tech adds up into a back breaking experience in my backpack.
My Slimmest most light weight monitor thus far has actually been my Samsung Tab S8+, the 12.4 inch size, which acts as a suitable secondary monitor in Super Display. But since I'm a monitor nut, I still wanted another monitor to use in conjunction with the Tab S8+.
Well today I was at B&H NYC's megastore, just intending to window shop. Saw the Espresso Display, a View Sonic monitor, and like 2 other USB-C monitors they had on the tech floor. Wasn't impressed with any of them. Then I went upstairs where they keep all the Wacom Stuff. (They also seem to be pushing Xencelab tablet products, which is a first for B&H, which has largely been Wacom tech only)
They had the Movink there, and it was my first time seeing one in person, and oh my god. This thing is insanely light and thin. I knew it was from everything I heard about it, but holding it hand, I was genuinely shocked. I just couldn't believe how light and thin this thing is. But also firm and stable (unlike my XP-Pen device). Given how wacom's go to is usually ultra fat and thick bezels, this is without doubt the most impressive device I have ever seen them release.
This thing is thinner than any other USB-C monitor they had downstairs (even the espresso which prides itself on its thinness).
Despite walking in just expecting to just Window Shop, I ended up walking out with a $816 charge to my credit card, and a Movink in hand. (checked online first, no discounts anywhere)
And maybe since I've been in Microsoft MPP and XP-pen land as of late, the Pro Pen 3 with Wintab is a joy to draw with. Also was pleased to see that Wacom is also now offering ARM drivers (at least with the movink) so Non-penabled Snapdragon devices (like the Surface Laptop 7) now have a viable add-on pen option.
Has anyone else been rocking a Movink?
Well, after using 2.8K (2880 x 1620) and 4K (3840 x 2160) for so many years, I can no longer go back to 1920 x 1080. So I hope Wacom can release a higher resolution version, at least 2.5K or so.
