Hi there,
My daughter starts High-School next year and she grabs my Surface go 2 m3 more often i'd like (which is my main device at home - docked or not) - also because her Galaxy Tab A with Pen has gotten old - performance- and sizewise.
Now the big question is, if I should get another Surface (uprade for me probably 😁 and pass the go2 to her) or an Android/iOS device - and which one.
She's way more familiar with Android devices - than "old and complicated" Windows.
I assume they will start to do some presentations, text, and spreadsheet-work at high school (at least there's ICT on the timetable), although her school doesn't give out any device recommendations.
She likes to draw on the devices, so we'll continue with a penabled device.
She started playing some online-games on the Roblox-platform and wow, that drains the go2-battery like nothing.
iPads seem to have become the standard sketching/drawing-device for young people, but I'm not very keen to buy into the Apple-universe. ...although they're probably best for battery-life and the best alternative to EMR (to me the surface go2 pen behaviour is so-so and i'd love to go back to an EMR-device).
Ideally i'd like to find a good used device at 300 € max.
Any recommendations?
Dale gives good advice; my guess is that your daughter's new scholl has a preference for one particular brand / OS. She will be best served if she's part of that ecosystem.
However... I in the event that it's the Wild West at her school, I reluctantly recommend Apple (because it mostly just works and is very popular), then Windows (because Office 360 is still the go-to business app) and lastly Android.
