I didn't catch much of the event live, but all I did get was AI this and AI that. Is the new fold hardware any good? Apparently the watch will alert you if you're dead (no pulse)? Who watched it? Thoughts, opinions?
I have the 7a, had the 6 prior. My wife had the 2,5, and now the 7. TBH, I think I'm done with Pixel for awhile. It's not just AI, it's all the things. The 9 Pro's Tensor 4 chip isn't as powerful as any of the other flagships out there. The camera software isn't great anymore, just ok. Even when I update settings, Google post-processes my pictures to adjust them away from what I just changed my settings to. Stock Android has lost some of the features I used most. And now Gemini is taking over Assistant.
I originally got this 7a as a stop gap until something I really wanted came along. I thought that would be either the S24 Ultra or the Pixel 9 Pro XL, but dang the AI. I am on the verge of considering an iPhone. ☹️
Didn't watch the event,(didn't even know there was one). However, someone on the Fold Reddit group posted a side by side comparison between both new folds. TL.DR, the Google fold looked horrible. What they did with the asymmetrical bezels looked more like a joke.
The prices. They just seem to creep up each year. I was under the impression that the pixel line offered affordability, with new features and reasonable performance. All I see is greed. Then again, no-one's forcing me to buy them.I'll stick with my Pixel 8 Pro (and Duo 2) until eBay offers a reduction on the 9 Pro XL.

Not to be morbid, but that's an attractive feature if you live alone, especially with a pet, and you're getting up in age or you have some kind of condition.
To be useful, it would be set up to notify next of kin or someone else of your choice.
And no, I didn't watch it because I'm not in the market. I've only had my Pixel Fold Uno for five months! (Still going great, BTW. Good as new... knock on wood.)
