Didn’t like the Reddit setup so I visited sporadically. If this has already been discussed pls point me in the right direction.
Since the new ARM based PCs and tablets has been out a little while I am curious if anyone has charged their credit cards to get a new device. Is battery life really everything it is hyped to be? How about compatibility? Run in to any snags? Drivers that refuse to run?
P.S. Kudos to Violajack for setting up this forum. Respect for taking care of 3 kids at the same time.

Thanx, seen some YT reviews but in my opinion they havn’t had the devices long enough to make a true assessment. Especially when it comes to battery life.
Since I don’t game those incompatibilites are not a problem for me. The driver problem is worse. Have an eight year old Canon inkjet that also works as scanner and copier and I doubt they will upgrade the driver for that clunker.
@Kumabjorn : I have elected to stick with my SP8, for now, but I can provide first-order answers to your questions:
<> Reviews seem to indicate that the battery life of the SDX Elite does, in fact, mostly live up to its hype.
<> These same reviews, and posted user comments indicate that there are SW and driver issues. Games appear to be a significant problem as well as some drivers, notably printer drivers. I think I have also seen some complaints that some productivity apps also have problems although I can't remember the specifics.
<> Overall, however, the review community seems to be mostly pleased with SDX and its computing performance and battery life.
I would assume that the SW and Driver issues will get worked out over time because more OEMs are invested in the current crop of ARM PCs and their success. If it was just Microsoft, I wouldn't be nearly that optimistic.
Perhaps some members of the forum have observations that they can share?
Man, I really want to. :) Unfortunately it's going to be a while--since I have a Surface Pro 9. The reviews are really solid for them now.
