Microsoft tackles catastrophic global IT outage as 'CrowdStrike' security blames update bug for grounded flights and moreBugs in 'CrowdStrike' security software updates trigger Blue-Screen-of-Death (BSOD) issues for airlines, TV networks, and more.
It's Crowdstrike. And, the main problem is, MS gave them basically full access to update the kernel and to be able to push changes to the kernel without MS checking them. Crazy lack of quality control on both ends.
Though to be fair, if Linux were as popular, then this would be happening to Linux systems.
The issue is with one company, both directly and indirectly, being able to inflict this much disruption from a botched update.
*reboots into Ubuntu again*
